Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh railway station on Wednesday (October 2) received a letter threatening bomb blasts at multiple railway stations and locations in the state. According to the police, the letter claimed to be from the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Additional SP Pyare Lal Meena stated that the letter, delivered to the Hanumangarh station master by post, was brought to the attention of local police on Tuesday evening.
The letter threatened bombings at the railway station and several locations in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, Bundi, Udaipur, and Jaipur.
“It was threatened in the letter, which was in the name of Jaish-e-Mohammed, that the railway station and places in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, Bundi, Udaipur, Jaipur will be blown up by bombs on October 30,” he said.
Following the threat, personnel from the Government Railway Police (GRP), local police, and BSF conducted searches. A case has been filed with the GRP police station, and investigations are underway to identify the sender of the letter.
