Local trains on the Harbour line experienced significant delays on Tuesday, September 10, due to an overhead equipment (OHE) issue at Nerul railway station. According to Central Railway, services between Vashi and Panvel were disrupted by about 30 minutes, with the issue beginning early in the morning at 04:55 hours.
Impact and Suspension
The technical problem led to the complete suspension of several local trains between Vashi and Panvel for approximately two hours. Repair work was undertaken promptly to address the issue.
Restoration of Services
Central Railway took to its official social media platform to inform passengers about the situation. A post on X read, “Due to an Overhead Equipment (OHE) issue at Nerul, all up and down train movements between Vashi and Panvel have been significantly affected since 04:55 hours. Restoration work is currently in progress.”
In a follow-up update, Central Railway confirmed that the restoration work was completed at around 06:56 hours. “Restoration work has been completed and train services resumed at 06:56 hrs,” CR reported.
