Western Railway on Thursday (September 5), in order to facilitate the construction of the sixth railway line between Goregaon and Kandivali, announced that a 10-hour block will be implemented on the Up and Down Slow lines and the Down Fast line between Goregaon and Kandivali stations.

This block will occur from midnight (00:00 hrs) to 10:00 AM on the night of Saturday, September 7, through Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The statement also announced that Mail and Express trains in both Up and Down directions may experience delays of approximately 10 to 20 minutes during this block period. Some suburban train services will be cancelled or short-terminated.

Impact on Western Railway services

According to a press release, Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, informed that during this period all Up Slow line trains will operate on the Up Fast line from Borivali to Goregaon. Additionally, all Down Slow line trains will run on the Down Fast line from Andheri and will be handled at Platform No. 7 at Goregaon station.

The statement also added that between Goregaon and Borivali, all Down Slow line trains will use the fifth line. Due to platform constraints, these trains will not stop at Ram Mandir, Malad, and Kandivali stations. Furthermore, a few Churchgate-Borivali Slow train services will be short-terminated and reversed from Goregaon station.
