Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the doubling and electrification of the Sanathnagar – Moula Ali rail line along with six new station buildings in Telangana’s Sanathnagar today.

The entire 22-kilometer rail route has been commissioned with automatic signaling and has been completed as part of the MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport Service) Phase – II project.

As part of the project, six new station buildings have come up in the southern state viz Ferozguda, Suchitra Centre, Bhudevi Nagar, Ammuguda, Neredmet, and Moula Ali Housing Board stations.

It is noteworthy that the doubling and electrification of Sanathnagar – Moula Ali Rail section paves the way for the introduction of passenger trains for the first time in this section.

Further, these new station buildings will alleviate congestion at Secunderabad station and create new paths to connectivity. It will help improve punctuality and overall speed of trains in the region by reducing the burden on other highly saturated sections.

MMTS train service launched

PM Modi also flagged off the inaugural Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) Train service from Ghatkesar – Lingampalli via Moula Ali – Sanathnagar.

For the first time, this train service extends the popular suburban train service in the Hyderabad – Secunderabad twin city regions to new areas. It connects the new areas in the eastern part of the city like Cherlapalli and Moula Ali with the western part of the twin city region.

Offering efficient transportation for commuters, office workers, students, and vendors, the train service will be highly beneficial for commuters.

The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs. 6,800 crores in Telangana today. These projects include multiple key sectors like road, rail, petroleum, and natural gas.
