Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh PM Sheikh Haisna came together on Saturday in New Delhi and announced a new train service between Rajshahi and Kolkata. They’re also launching a new bus route between Chittagong and Kolkata. Hasina is the first foreign leader to visit India since PM Modi started his third term. After their chat, the two leaders decided on a bunch of new things to improve connections and trade.

Rajshahi-Kolkata new train, Kolkata- Chittagong bus service

There will be a passenger train running from Kolkata to Rajshahi soon. Also, there will be a trial run for a goods train from Gede-Darshana to Haldibari-Chilahati next month. Plus, they’re starting up that bus service between Kolkata and Chittagong. India’s pitching in to help build an inland container depot in Sirajganj, Bangladesh, which should make moving goods easier.

Modi talked about how important it is for people from both countries to connect, and India’s even setting up an e-medical visa for Bangladeshis needing treatment here. They’re also opening a new assistant high commission in Rangpur to make things smoother. On top of all that, they signed 10 deals covering digital stuff, maritime activities, railways, space, green tech, health, and more.
