Attention to the commuters of Delhi Metro! The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started its services earlier than its scheduled time from the terminal stations of all Metro lines today. The move comes in view of the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon race to be held on Sunday (October 15th). It will help participants from all corners of the city to reach the ‘Half Marathon venue’ i.e. JLN Stadium and ’10K venue’ at Janpath-Tolstoy Marg Junction.

To facilitate the participants, the DMRC has planned to start its services at 03:45 hrs from all terminal stations of its corridor. The trains will run with a frequency of about 15 minutes on all lines till 06:00 hrs. However, after 06:00 hrs, the Metro trains will run as per the normal day timetable throughout the day on all Lines.

Volunteers deployment at specific Metro stations

For the convenience and guidance of the participants, the organizers of the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon will also deploy volunteers at a few selected Metro stations which include JLN Stadium, Jangpura, Jor Bagh, Janpath and Rajiv Chowk Metro station.

Purchase QR code based Metro tickets

The participants are advised to purchase QR code based Metro tickets through the ‘DMRC Travel’ app or Whatsapp Number +91 9650855800 by simply sending ‘Hi’ before reaching the station or use their NCMC/Smart card to avoid queues and save time. The DMRC makes regular announcements at the Metro stations and inside the trains to inform commuters and participants about the event.

DMRC introduces QR code-based ticketing facility through Paytm

The DMRC has introduced an additional user-friendly option to purchase tickets for travelling on the city’s rapid transit system. The country’s longest metro network has launched QR code-based ticketing facility through the Paytm Mobile App.
