Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled an array of development initiatives in Rajasthan on Monday (October 2), on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects amounting to approximately Rs 7,000 crore in Rajasthan and will inaugurate projects worth Rs 19,260 crore in Madhya Pradesh in the evening.
PM Modi’s Rajasthan visit
In Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Mehsana-Bathinda-Gurdaspur gas pipeline, a project costing Rs 4,500 crore, aimed at advancing a gas-based economy.
PM Modi also inaugurated Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (HPCL) LPG plant in Abu Road, designed to bottle and distribute 86 lakh cylinders annually. This endeavor is anticipated to reduce the number of trucks transporting cylinders by approximately 0.75 million kilometers annually, contributing to a reduction of about 0.5 million tons of CO2 emissions annually.
Among other projects, the Prime Minister also inaugurate a four-lane road on NH-12 (new NH-52) on the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section, constructed at a cost of more than Rs 1,480 crore. This development will facilitate the transportation of mined produce from Kota and Jhalawar districts.
The statement also said that foundation stones for constructing and widening the railway overbridge from two lanes to four in Sawai Madhopur was also laid. The prime minister today inaugurated several railway projects, tourism facilities and a permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota.
PM Modi’s Madhya Pradesh visit
During his visit to Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway, which has been developed at a cost of approximately Rs 11,895 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for five distinct road projects amounting to over Rs 1,880 crore.
In line with his vision of providing a concrete house for every family, the Prime Minister initiated the ‘grih pravesh’ ceremony for over 2.2 lakh homes constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin. He also inaugurated houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban, with a total cost of about Rs 140 crore.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to supplying safe and adequate drinking water, Modi laid the foundation stone for Jal Jeevan Mission projects worth over Rs 1,530 crore in Gwalior and Sheopur districts. These projects are anticipated to benefit more than 720 villages in the region.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for nine health centers under the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission and inaugurate and launch several other projects.
These developments come as assembly elections in both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are expected to be held in November-December.
