First showcased at the 2015 Honda RevFest earlier this year, the Honda CB Hornet 160R was finally launched in India on Thursday (December 10) in the price range of Rs 79,900 – Rs 84,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Honda’s new naked street bike will take head on against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ/FZ Verison 2.0 and others in the 150cc-160cc segment. It has been introduced as a replacement of the CB Trigger, which was discontinued in August, 2015 due to poor demand.

Power for the Honda CB Hornet 160R comes from a 162.71cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that develops 15.6bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 14.76Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. This gasoline motor is equipped with Honda Eco Technology (HET) that helps the bike offer a “high acceleration” and sporty performance. This system lowers engine’s weight and friction, and enhances its fuel efficiency. Transmitting power to the wheels is a 5-speed transmission with 1-down 4-up shift pattern.

The Honda CB Hornet 160R is built on a tubular diamond frame, and borrows some of its styling elements with the CX-01 concept. The bike looks aggressive and sporty with elements like pronounced fuel tank, halogen headlamp, dual-tone front mud-guard, multi-spoke alloy wheels with black coat, X-shaped LED taillights ad highlighted knee recesses.
