CarDekho Group’s fleet management company, Carrum Mobility Solutions, has expanded its collaboration with Uber and will now manage the fleet for its premium offering, Uber Black.
In the first phase, it has deployed over 250 SUVs across Delhi-NCR and Mumbai for the category.
Carrum was founded by Karan Jain in May 2024. Jain was also the co-founder of Revv. In December 2023, CarDekho picked up a majority stake in Gurugram-based Revv, marking its foray into the shared mobility space.
In September 2024, CarDekho made a strategic investment in Carrum Mobility Solutions for an undisclosed amount.
The company manages fleet of vehicles and runs training and grooming programs for drivers. It had signed its initial partnership with Uber to make its debut in the market in 2024.
“We are pleased to take our partnership with Uber to another stage, as we strengthen our value offering of fleet management services to Uber for its category Uber Black,” said Karan Jain, founder of Carrum.
Aditya Kapoor, head, supply and electrification, Uber India and South Asia, said, “At Uber, we are dedicated to providing premium riders an exceptional experience through our Uber Black category.”
Carrum said it conducts daily inspections of both vehicles and driver partners to ensure quality service and professionalism. It has dedicated teams and tech-enabled systems to monitor and manage performance across its fleet.
“To ensure quality service and professionalism, Carrum has implemented training and grooming programs for drivers under this segment,” it said, adding that these include clearly defined operating procedures, uniforms, and training sessions.
Additionally, there are reward and recognition programs for drivers who adhere to quality and service protocols.
“With this expansion, Carrum and Uber aim to redefine the expectations of urban mobility for premium users,” the joint statement read.
