The world has witnessed the potential of AI and has rapidly started its adaptation to fast-forward its digital growth. India too is on an upward trajectory to leverage AI-led technology to achieve its $1 trillion digital economy dream. It has underlined a new era of innovation and growth potential in the online gaming sector. India’s online gaming industry has witnessed exponential growth in recent years crossing a substantial gaming community of 42.5 crore gamers, making it the second-largest globally after China, according to a recent report by EY.
A testament to the sector’s drive towards innovation-led growth is its complete transformation from the past decade. To cater to the dynamic user behaviour and needs, technological developments and innovation in the sector laid out a path for developers to deliver the best user experience. From enhancing game-play experiences to creating more immersive experiences, AI has played an essential role.
With the sector continuously evolving and expanding legitimate Indian online gaming platforms prioritised the implementation of responsible gaming practices to safeguard user privacy and security. AI is a powerful tool that enables businesses to leverage advanced algorithms to monitor user behaviour and identify unsafe or fraudulent activities while gaming. By tracking user touch-points such as play frequency, session duration, and game types, companies can now assign a unique responsible gaming score using AI, indicating the level of risk associated with each player. This score will serve as a measure of adherence to healthy gaming habits and aid in the identification of unsafe behaviour. When such behaviour is detected, AI algorithms will promptly notify the platforms, facilitating early issue identification and platform intervention to provide timely support to players. This significantly contributes to the creation of a safer and more responsible gaming environment for all players.
AI is the architect of personalised gaming experience, delving into player behaviours, preferences, and gaming patterns much like a trusted gaming companion who anticipates every move. For instance, with the aid of AI, one can analyse an individual’s gaming history and preferences to suggest new game formats or in-game purchases that align with their interests. AI enables companies to tailor their offerings to meet the specific needs of each player, thereby enhancing the gaming experience of the user.
As AI technologies evolve, we can expect remarkable transformations in gameplay experiences, including personalised gaming experiences, dynamic content generation, predictive analytics for game design, robust anti-cheat measures and security, efficient content moderation, and community management. This data-driven approach engages existing players and attracts new audiences, fostering a vibrant and inclusive gaming community. As we embrace the limitless potential of AI, the online gaming industry is poised to undergo a profound transformation, redefining the boundaries of entertainment and immersion.
