Canon India has launched the #CaptureWithCare digital campaign, encouraging photographers to prioritise safety while capturing images. The campaign, shared on social media, carries the tagline ‘Don’t Let That Breathtaking Shot Get Literal,’ addressing the rise in risky photography practices driven by social media trends.

In response to a significant increase in accidents, such as the 63% rise in train track incidents in Uttarakhand linked to dangerous selfies and Instagram reels, Canon India introduced the campaign in two phases. The first phase included teaser posts, followed by a video that contrasts the beauty of photography with the dangers of unsafe practices. This video, released on platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, underscores that photography should be about capturing life, not risking it.

Canon India, a subsidiary of Canon Inc., markets a wide range of digital imaging products in India. The company has offices in 10 cities, over 1,000 employees, and a service network covering more than 632 towns across India. The campaign aligns with Canon’s philosophy of ‘Delighting You Always,’ promoting a balance between creativity and safety in photography.
