Vistara Frankfurt-Mumbai flight receives bomb threat: Following a bomb threat, a Mumbai-bound Vistara flight coming in from Frankfurt, Germany, made an emergency landing in the city today.
The flight was carrying 147 people and landed safely at 7:45 am. It was later taken to the isolation bay for mandatory security checks. Sources said that the Boeing 787 aircraft was carrying 134 passengers and 13 crew members.
“Vistara Frankfurt flight, which had departed for Mumbai from Frankfurt on Tuesday at 8.20 pm (local time) made an emergency landing here at around 7.45 am on Thursday,” a source told PTI.
This brings the total to at least 20 bomb threats received by Indian carriers in the past week. While security checks are ongoing for the latest case, the previous 19 threats were found to be false alarms.

As per a Vistara Spokesperson, a threat was made on social media. Following that, the authorities were informed promptly. “The aircraft safely landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai and was taken to the isolation bay where all customers were disembarked. We are fully cooperating with the security agencies to complete the mandatory security checks,” they added.
On Monday, three international flights operated by Indian carriers received bomb threats, followed by ten more on Tuesday and at least six on Wednesday. All threats, which were later found to be fake, were made through social media platforms. Bomb threats have affected all major scheduled Indian carriers, excluding smaller regional airlines.
