The Tezpur airport will see a cease in the flight operations in October for one-and-half years for maintenance works, a senior official has revealed.

The flight operations will be suspended from October 1, 2024 to March 31, 2026. “This is due to the resurfacing works of the runway along with other projects to improve the facilities at the terminal,” the official added.

The Tezpur Airport sits next to the Tezpur Base of the Indian Air Force, where its runway accommodates both commercial flights and fighter aircraft operations.

Earlier, the Tezpur Air Force Base had informed the Tezpur Salonibari Passenger Airport Authority about the maintenance and the subsequent impact on the passenger aircraft services.
