Star Air has announced new direct flights connecting Hyderabad to Lucknow via Jharsuguda and Hyderabad to Raipur via Jharsuguda. These routes, set to commence operations on January 1, 2025, align with Star Air’s mission to enhance regional connectivity and its commitment to “Connecting Real India.”
Bengaluru-based Star Air is the aviation arm of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group.
This expansion increases Star Air’s destinations to a total of 24, marking a significant milestone in its support for the Government of India’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, which aims to make air travel more accessible and affordable for all.
Enhanced Fleet for Last-Mile Connectivity
To strengthen its presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, Star Air has announced plans to expand its fleet to 25 aircraft over the next three years. This ambitious plan underscores the airline’s dedication to serving underserved areas and fostering economic growth through better connectivity.
Currently, the airline operates a fleet of 9 aircraft, including 4 Embraer E175s and 5 Embraer E145s, ensuring the capacity to cater to growing regional travel demands.

Flight Schedule Details
The new flight schedule introduced by Star Air offers enhanced connectivity between key cities, operating as follows:
- Flight No. S5: Connects Hyderabad (HYD) – Jharsuguda (JRG) – Lucknow (LKO) and returns via Jharsuguda (JRG) – Hyderabad (HYD). This route will operate three days per week.
- Flight No. S5: Connects Hyderabad (HYD) – Jharsuguda (JRG) – Raipur (RPR) and returns via Jharsuguda (JRG) – Hyderabad (HYD). This route will operate four days per week.
