Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, operated by the GMR group, announced the launch of a state-of-the-art general aviation terminal on Monday, exclusively designed for private jet owners and users. The new facility aims to meet the diverse needs of passengers flying on chartered flights for business or personal travel.
In a press release, the airport operator highlighted the terminal’s focus on providing a luxurious experience tailored to the high-end clientele frequently travelling through Hyderabad Airport. Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, emphasised the city’s status as a booming economic hub, with the second-highest concentration of ultra-high net worth individuals (HNI) in India. He noted that the thriving pharmaceutical and IT sectors, along with the development of Global Capability Centres by multinational corporations in the region, have significantly increased private jet traffic.
“By redefining the flying experience, this new facility sets a new benchmark for extraordinary travel,” Panicker stated. “The terminal will serve as an extension of luxury for our frequent HNI travellers, offering unparalleled comfort, convenience, and bespoke services. Our commitment to providing a world-class experience remains steadfast as we continue to enhance excellence in the years to come.”
The general aviation terminal, covering 11,234 square feet, is located adjacent to the RGIA terminal and features a private entrance and parking. It showcases a unique blend of classical architecture with Indo-Saracenic and Indo-Gothic styles, creating an ambiance rich in elegance and comfort.
The terminal provides dedicated facilitation services for domestic and international general aviation passengers, including a lounge, private lounge, separate arrival and departure corridors, check-in, immigration, customs checks, hand baggage processing, security clearance, a breathalyser test facility for crew, staff lounge, duty-free offerings, and dedicated Wi-Fi for seamless connectivity.
Passengers are chauffeur-driven directly to and from their aircraft to avoid queues or delays.
With its world-class facilities and exceptional services, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport’s new general aviation terminal is poised to set a new standard for comfort, efficiency, and luxury, transforming the travel experience for domestic private aircraft users.
