An Akasa Air passenger made waves on Thursday after claiming that ‘unhygienic’ conditions on board had given her a fungal infection. Jahanvi Tripathi shared photos of her swollen legs — explaining in a LinkedIn post that she was currently undergoing medical treatment. She urged the airline to investigate the hygiene standards during the flight and provide an explanation.
“The unhygienic condition of the seats was extremely concerning and unacceptable. This issue not only caused severe discomfort during the flight but also led to physical distress afterward, which ultimately ruined my entire trip. My friends who were traveling with me faced similar discomfort, making it a shared negative experience,” the lengthy post recounted.
‘Unable to walk, sleep’
The passenger explained that she had developed a “severe fungal infection” on her legs soon after the journey — raising concerns about hygiene and cleanliness standards on the flight. She also urged Akasa Air to “take the complaint seriously” and outline “corrective actions taken to prevent such incidents in the future”.
“I developed a severe fungal infection in my legs, which has now worsened to the extent that I am unable to walk properly, unable to sleep, and unable to carry out my daily chores. The pain, discomfort, and mental stress caused by this condition are extreme and have significantly affected my quality of life. This infection appears to have developed following my travel,” she added.
