FM Nirmala Sitharaman Budget 2024 Full Speech in Text: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has started the Interim Budget 2024 presentation in the parliament. The speech began at 11:00 am.
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the pre-election budget 2024-25.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presently unveiling her sixth consecutive budget. Initiating her address, the minister emphasised that the government assigns the utmost priority to four groups: the poor, youth, women, and farmers. She also addressed topics such as the economy, women’s participation in the workforce, PMAY-G, and the influential role of ‘youth power’ in sports, among other subjects.
Talking about the Skill India Mission during the Interim Budget, the Finance Minister said that as many as 1.4 crore youth were trained and upskilled under the Skill India Mission.
Earlier, Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Ministers of State Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad and Pankaj Chaudhary, and senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan before presenting the Union Budget.
Government to launch housing scheme for ‘deserving’ middle class, says FM
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is currently presenting her sixth consecutive budget. At the outset of her speech, the minister underscored the government’s top priority for four key groups: the poor, youth, women, and farmers. She delved into various subjects, including the economy, women’s involvement in the workforce, PMAY-G, and the significant impact of ‘youth power’ in sports, housing scheme, Skill India Mission, and tax slab, among other subjects.
In her presentation, the Finance Minister spoke about inclusive development and growth. She said that the government will launch a scheme for the “deserving” sections of the middle class. The scheme would help the middle class, which currently lives in rented houses, slums, chawls and unauthorised colonies, build their own homes.
