In a pathbreaking move, the industry department of the UP government has decided to step out of the shadows of the premier government sector ICT company, National Informatics Centre (NIC) and, instead, selected a Noida-based private company, M/s Cyber Futuristics India, for a dedicated server to host its revamped website and provide prompt and uninterrupted service.
NIC provides e-governance solutions and integrated services to all government sector websites in India. This indicates an end to the monopoly of the government sector and a big thumbs-up for the private sector.
Cyber Futuristics was selected after Udyog Bandhu, the UP government body dedicated to facilitating investment in the infrastructure, industrial and service sectors, as well as solving problems of existing and up-coming industries, invited bids for hosting the website for it on a Windows-based dedicated server last month and an agreement was signed between the two a few days back.
Cyber Futuristics is now expected to host the newly developed website of the department from the coming week.
