Tata Motors, distributors of Fiat Cars, is targeting a market share of 15% in the premium hatchback segment of the newly launched Grande Punto in the eastern region within three to four months.

?The total market size of this segment in the eastern region is about 1,200 cars per month and we are targeting a share of 15% within three to four months with the launch of Grande Punto,? said Subodh Marathe, country head, Fiat Product Group, Tata Motors Ltd.

Nationally, this premium segment has a market size of 14,000 cars per month. ?60-65% of Punto has localised components and the target is to localise it 100% in the near future,? Marathe added, during the launch of the Punto, priced at Rs 4.5 lakh on Tuesday. All the Fiat cars?Punto, Linea (launched early this year) and Palio (launched in 2008) ?are manufactured in the Pune factory, a 50:50 joint venture between Tata and Fiat.
