Gone are the days when only an astronaut, a Russian millionaire or a film star could travel to space. Now, all you need to be is a Spice subscriber. Punjab’s premier cellular operator, Spice Telecom, on Wednesday launched a first-of-its-kind contest through which its subscribers can get an opportunity to travel to space on RocketPlane XP free of cost.

Aptly termed as Bingo Bindass Go To Space, the contest is in partnership with ITC’s popular Bingo chips and UTV’s channel Bindass.

This six-week long, exciting contest is a nationwide hunt to search for the first young Indian space tourist who will get a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to travel to space as a passenger on board RocketPlane XP a US-based commercial flight.

To participate in the contest, Spice subscribers have to SMS to 59995 and answer any question correctly to become eligible for participating in the contest. Every week one question will be flashed on the television screen. Subscribers, who have answered the questions correctly, will be invited to the audition round that will be organised across key cities. These auditions will test the bindaas quotient of the participants. Commenting on the Bingo Bindaas Go To Space contest, Navdeep Kapur, DGM – marketing, Spice Telecom, Punjab, opined, “Only five persons have flown into space as tourists till date starting with Dennis Tito. This unique contest will provide a never-before opportunity to Spice subscribers to travel to space free of cost.”
