Nearly 55,000 officers and employees of the six associate banks of the State Bank of India have defered their strike by three days till July 6.
“We hve differed the date as now the employees too along with the officers in the SBI’s associate banks will strike work on July 6,” All India Bank Employees’ Central Committee, member J P Jhawar told PTI on Monday.
He said the Union Forum of Bank Union has given the call to six associate banks for the strike. The associate banks are going on strike to oppose merger plans of their organisations with the parent bank SBI.
Jhawar, who is also All India State Bank of Indore Employees’ Co-ordination Committee, General Secretary, said the six associate banks of the SBI – were State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Travancore and State Bank of Indore.
