Sarovar Hotels and Resorts, a hospitality management company, has planned five new hotels in India in collaboration with Vipul Hospitality (a part of Vipul Infrastructure Group). These hotels will be set up in Amritsar, Bhubneshwar, Mohali, Siliguri and Raipur. It is estimated that Vipul hospitality will invest Rs 300 crore in the projects.
Three hotels, in Amritsar, Bhubneshwar and Raipur, will be five stars under the brand Sarovar Premiere. This brand is to be developed in Mohali, and Park Inn in Siliguri. Each hotel will have 100 -150 rooms with , banquet and conference facilities.
Elaborating upon the tie-up, Ajay K Bakaya, executive director, Sarovar Hotels and Resorts said, “Since Vipul Hospitality has a strong foothold in these regions we can explore the areas for our brands. As a part of the understanding, Sarovar Hotels will provide technical assistance for all these projects besides managing and marketing the hotel operations. Vipul Hospitality will invest in the hotels. It is expected that the Sarovar Premieres in Amritsar, Bhubneshwar and Raipur will be ready by 2010 and the other two will take a few months more.”
Once these projects are developed, Sarovar Hotels is planning to float five more properties with Vipul Hospitality, which will be finalised within three months. Bakaya added, “We are scouting for places in other states, and things will be finalised soon. Besides these, we are also developing two hotels in Chandigarh under the brand name of Park Plaza and Hometel. Another Hometel is coming up at Baddi, in Himachal Pradesh.
Lucknow governor approves VAT ordinance Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh governor TV Rajeswar on Thursday cleared the path for the smooth roll out of the VAT regime in the state giving his approval to the ordinance. The President’s approval to Uttar Pradesh Value Added Tax Bill 2007 had already been obtained a day earlier. Speaking to FE, a senior official of the trade tax department confirmed the ordinance has been cleared and the regime would be implemented from January 1. “Computerisation work has already been completed at almost all the 447 sectors.There would be one deputy commissioner to attend to the queries of every 1,000 traders. There would also be one frontal office in each of the 447 sectors,” he said.
