Premium bike manufacturer and part of Eicher Motors, Royal Enfield has proposed to set up a new greenfield project in the near future. The company has shortlisted Tamil Nadu (home state) and Andhra Pradesh and will finalise its plans, including investments, products, capacity among other issues in the next three to four months, said R L Ravichandran, CEO of Royal Enfield.

Speaking to the FE here on Friday, he said: ?With the introduction of new UCE (Unit Construction Engine) technology a few months ago, the company has been getting encouraging response to its products. We have been introducing this technology across all its four products in phases and we hope to grow better going forward.?

?With Chennai facility almost saturated (70,000 units capacity) the company has proposed to set up a new plant – either in Tamil Nadu or in Andhra Pradesh to meet its future growth prospects – at least for next 10 years. We have not yet finalised our plans, including investments. We hope to finalise the same in the next three to four months,? Ravichandran said.
