City Union Bank (CUB) has reported a 48% jump in its net profit to R51.39 crore for the fourth quarter as against R34.81 crore clocked in the same quarter an year ago period. The total income of the bank has increased by 38.53% to at R391.09 crore from R282.31 crore. The net interest margin (NIM) stood at 3.79% and return of assets at 1.48%. According to a bank statement, the gross NPA was reduced from 1.36% to 1.21% and net NPA was brought down from 0.58% to 0.52%. The total business has grown by 29% to R22,243 crore from R17,128 crore.The total deposits of the bank increased by 25.26% to R12,914 crore from R10,285 crore.
