Lenovo ThinkCentre M72e is an entry level desktop that caters to small and medium enterprises, home users and students. It delivers a host of PC-management tools and features that help IT personnel save time, cut costs, and increase user productivity: simplified diagnostics dashboard, encryption technology, port disablement.
When you see it for the first time, you can?t stop yourself from admiring the form-factor and design of this tiny desktop. It is very compact and measures 7 x 1.5 x 7 inches.
Interestingly, Lenovo has designed it such that its overall volume is ?1-Litre?. The optical drive is attached to the desktop with the help of a USB cable and can also be fastened to the computer?s body using two thumb screws.
The rubber end at the bottom helps this machine to not get displaced from its position. The rear panel of the PC has a total of three USB 2.0 ports, VGA and DisplayPort outputs. The front has two more USB 2.0 ports, headphone and mic jacks, and status indicators. You also get an optical mouse and keyboard with this device. Based on Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, it is powered by Intel Core i5-3470 processor, 4 GB RAM and a 500 GB hard disk. For connectivity, there is an Ethernet port but no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Intel Core i5 processor made its presence felt in the benchmark performance test that we ran on this computer. In the PCMark 7 benchmark, it got a score of 2,674 which means that the CPU is good enough to handle all your applications barring graphics. In 3DMark 2006, it scored 3,400 which is par for the course. The device has Intel HD 2000 graphics which cannot handle heavy graphics applications though. However, you will not face any problem during media playback or while watching videos.
