The ongoing gas dispute involving the Ambani brothers and the Centre has taken its toll. The government has extended NELP VIII bid date by two months to October 12 from August 10.

The petroleum ministry has announced a revised schedule for road shows to be carried out in India and outside. The road show will be launched in Mumbai on August 8 followed by Houston on August 20 and 21, Calgary on August 24 and 25, London September 8 and 9, Perth Road on September 22 and Brisbane on September 24 and 25.

Eventhough the government and the Director-General of Hydrocarbon (DGH) have refrained from citing reasons for the postponement, Mumbai based analyst, who desired not to be quoted, told FE ??It?s quite obvious that the Centre does not want to take any chance at a time when it has been dragged into the dispute between Ambani brothers. Besides, the petro ministry has filed a SLP against the Bombay High Court order asking RIL to supply KG-D6 gas to RNRL at $2.34 pmBtu for 17 years. Global investors may think twice before their participation as they fear the Ambanis? dispute may further open up pandora?s box.??
