Uttar Pradesh chief minister?s ambitious plan to beckon industrialists on July 14 in New Delhi, has been temporarily postponed due to the political upheaval at Centre. With old political equations and alignments giving way to new ones, business has taken a backseat.

Though the official reason given for calling off the much-talked-about meet is ?unavoidable reasons?, according to high level officials, chief minister Mayawati, who is already in New Delhi, is busy forming new equations in anticipation of the July 22 show of strength in the Lok Sabha. ?In this charged up environment, talking to investors and asking them to come and invest in the state may not get the attention and response that is expected by the government?, said informed sources.

Once the political dust settles down and it becomes clear whether the UPA government is able to muster a majority in the LS and whether India will sign the nuclear treaty, the state government may again come up with a fresh date for the meet in New Delhi.
