A man was duped of Rs 90,000 inside the Punjab National Bank in Sector 17 on Friday afternoon. The accused swindled the money from Uttar Pradesh resident Raj Kumar on the pretext of helping him deposit the same. Kumar told police that he was sent by his office to deposit the amount in the bank.

Sensing that Kumar was facing problems in filling the deposit form, an unidentified man approached him and offered help.

Kumar handed the money to the man who went to the cash counter and soon fled with the money.

CCTV footage of the bank show clear images of the accused. Interestingly, the footage shows the man strolling inside the bank for a long time unnoticed by the staff.

The SHO of the area said a case of cheating has been registered.
