Eastman Kodak Company, with 20% share in the digital camera market, plans to make inroads into the lifestyle segment by focusing on pocket video camera market.

Following the company’s launch of its first pocket video camera recently, Kodak has launched its second model, Kodak PlaySport in India.

The second largest digital camera maker in the world would be lining up more products in the category, said Srinivasu Saraswatula, vice-president, sales and channel management, Kodak India.

?The pocket video segment is a new category in India. We launched the second model in the category, barely four months after the first product in the country. You will witness a lot more action in this segment as we will be introducing more products,? he told FE adding that ?the season of bulk video cameras have gone and the trendy mobile-phone like models are what the gadgets-crazy young generation craves for?.

Since pocket video products do not have parallels in the market, the company is planning to take the products to the customers by resorting to campaigns and other handholding tools. Kodak PlaySport has been specifically designed for consumers with active lifestyles, allowing them to capture high definition video, even while underwater, simply with a touch of a button.

?At Kodak, we are committed to offering new products, services, and solutions for our customers and retailers,? he added.
