The job: It is so exciting to work for a brand which you grew up with. And a brand for children will always be exciting as the consumers are so exciting. And these young consumers are catching on to every new thing faster than any other consumer, hence one has to be fast to respond and innovate, and most importantly, think young. If there is one goal which excites me, it is to make my brand most aspirational for the children.
The weekdays: Though I would love to start my day with a workout I keep it for the evening, as reaching my workplace in the morning in Mumbai traffic is quite a challenge. The day is full of meetings – challenging meetings such as management reviews on topline targets and exciting ones such as developing communication or on new product development. It?s always fun to work with my young and energetic team.
It?s easy to create a fun culture in my department as our brand?s positioning also happens to be fun.
The weekend: I make a valiant effort to bring balance to my life by enjoying?Saturdays?to the fullest ? unwinding by listening to music, a long workout, Facebook and, of course, a personal things-to-do list. Come?Sunday, after breakfast it?s time for the laptop as I attend to many unanswered mails and pending work. An afternoon siesta is most relaxing, as is the spa. I do a lot of reading on Sundays, mostly on the internet.
The toys: Samsung smartphone has become an integral part of life?I use it for Facebook, emails and numerous apps. Then the Camel art products help me rediscover the forgotten artist in me. Using Camlin fountain pen not only reminds me of the golden days of school but also gives me a smooth writing experience.
The logos: Nike is my favourite brand, not because I use the sport shoes and T-shirts, but because the message ?Just do it? connects with me stronger than all other brands. But at the heart of it, I am a fun loving guy, and my brand Camlin with the message ?Let?s have fun? keeps whispering to me.
