Inox Leisure plans to strengthen its foothold further in the eastern part of the country. The multiplex chain plans to invest around Rs 400-450 crore across the country in next three years to increase its screen count from 76 to 264 by 2011. Of the total number of screens planned, around 70 screens would be concentrated in West Bengal, Assam, Orissa and Jharkhand implying an investment of over Rs 140 crore in the region.

Of the 70 screens in eastern India, around 54 would be concentrated around West Bengal. Without confirming the exact figure that the company plans to invest, Alok Tandon, COO, Inox Leisure Ltd said, ?We will invest around Rs 2 to 2.5 crore per screen excluding the cost of land acquisition and construction. Currently we have a screen count of 76, which we plan to increase by 188. That will amount for the total of 264 screens by 2011.
