Global IT services major IBM has opened a global delivery centre in Noida – its sixth in the country – to cater to the outsourcing demands. The company said that it would open another centre in the vicinity that is expected to be fully operational by middle of this year.
“Both the centres will house close to 3,000 employees once fully staffed,” IBM said in a statement here on Tuesday.
These centers will be an integral part of IBM’s global delivery network, spread across three dozen countries around the world. IBM will be hiring technology graduates and IT professionals with skills in IT strategy and architecture, business consulting, enterprise solutions, testing, and business intelligence to staff its Noida centres. These centers will enable IBM to increase its existing application services portfolio to support a growing global client base.
“This investment in Noida is a natural step for us to increase service capacity and broader market reach to help improve our ability to deliver industry-leading services to our global clients,” IBM general manager and vice-president, global delivery, Rajesh Nambiar said.
In June 2006, IBM said it would invest $6 billion in India over three years.
