1The job: In VIP Industries, the role of the marketing function stretches from product management to category management to brand communication. In other words, marketing is in the centre of all the good and the bad that is happening in the organisation. It is challenging to handle five different brands of luggage catering to five different socio-economic segments and this is what I enjoy most. It keeps me motivated, and always on my toes which in turn helps me get a better outcome for my brands and the organisation.
2The weekdays: Weekdays are quite tight. My day starts at 6:30 am, I love swimming and I mentally plan my day while in the water; it energizes me and makes me ready for the day ahead. My day at work starts at 9:30 am by responding to mails. Then internal meetings with individual brand teams happen followed by inter departmental meetings (sales/supply chain/production), if any. I keep the time post lunch for my agencies and media houses. I try to end my work by 7pm maximum so that I get to spend time with my family. I end my day with listening to the news and a light read.
3The weekend: My weekend is my sacred time with my family. I spend time with my kids and take them for a swim or play with them or go out for lunch. I love watching movies so one outing to the theatres surely happens. Saturday evening is reserved for
a drink with close friends.
Sunday I sleep.
4The toys: I am very addicted to my iPhone; something seems to be missing when it?s not with me. These days they make some cool apps and features which I love and these are my window to social media. It helps me to access the latest news and be in touch with old friends, especially those who live outside my city.
5The logos: The brands that I use are what I believe in. Being in the luggage industry, I prefer Carlton to be my luggage partner. I like Honda when it comes to a good ride. I prefer my formal wear to be stitched and for casual wear Guess is just my brand. I am a big fan of Mont Blanc accessories ? it?s such a no-nonsense yet great performing brand; for my personal care I use everything of Kouros by YSL. And I never go out without my Maui Jim Sunglasses.
