The job: My present profile is to market ?paper?, a product that we all use in numerous forms. Some scribble, some print, some read, some draw, some make paper boats, but no one ever notices what brand or type of paper is being used. I kind of love this challenge of how do I brand this product. For example, a copier paper is a typical FMCG product, but can we brand it? Yes we can, if somebody picks up the largest selling copier paper brand – ?JK Copier?. I am also enjoying the madness and the challenge of selling an additional volume of Copier paper that has come through our recent expansion in a difficult market condition. Basically, challenges keep me going.
The weekdays: I like to reach office on time and plan my day in advance; and get upset when I am forced to change my plans for the day. I like the feeling of having my team around me and the comfort that they bring to my job. I have a clear glass cabin and sometimes when I look through this, I feel happy seeing them chasing their work with dedication. I hate to take my lunch and skip it every day, although it is nothing to do with work. I like openness and always welcome discussions around work, out-of-the box ideas and am eager to help when somebody comes up to me with any personal problem. I see my channel partners as family and friends. This enables me to engage in meaningful discussions with them.
The weekend: It is family time and I enjoy spending every second of my day with my family.
The toys: I like my Canon as I enjoy photography. I am also an artefact collector.
The logos: I am very attached to the brand that I currently serve, i.e., JK Paper. I always feel if I do not connect with it I may not be able to do justice to the trust that I have earned from my top management. I keenly watch branding of other products; be it phones, chocolates, sport shoes, cars, watches, cameras, dairy products, etc. Many a time it helps in understanding what I can do for the brands of Copier papers that we sell; for example, it gives us an idea of the colours that are in vogue and I can pick it up for our packaging.
