The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and the Haryana Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) have spent Rs 120 crore on power development in district Jind during last over three years and works of Rs 70 crore are in progress.
A spokesman for the power utilities said that the Nigams commissioned 12 new substations, including three substations of 132 kv level at villages Naguran, Dhanauri and Alewa and nine substations of 33 kvlevel at villages Didwara, Lohchab, Kakdod, Rasidan, Gangoli, Chhattar, Manoharpur, Pipatha and Ram Khera in the district. The Nigams also augmented capacity of eight existing substations.
The utilities plan to construct 132 kv substations at Ghogarian, Dablan and Bibipur and 33 kv substations at Shamdo, Chhattar and Bachana villages while capacity of 220 kv substation Jind, 132 kv Naguran and 33 kv substation Pindara is being augmented.
