Brought together by a noble cause at the The Banqueting House, London- this event was dedicated to the Indian Head Injury Foundation and was hosted by the eminent HH Gaj Singh II, erstwhile maharaja of Jodhpur, and supported by Dr Prathap C Reddy chairman, Apollo Hospitals.
Those in attendance to support the cause and the future plans of the Indian Head Injury Foundation & Apollo Philanthropy represented by Upasna Kamineni (vice president, Apollo Philanthropy). The Gala event had the presence of guests like Amitabh Bachchan, Kabir Bedi, Sir Ben Kingsley, Bianca Jagger, Singer – Bob Geldof, Duchess of York, Lord Linley, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Patrick Hermes, Upasna Kamineni, KP singh, Vinod Taylor, Hollywood actress Sigourney Weaver, Suneeta Reddy, Elizabeth van Merkensteijn, Anil Thadani, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Viscount Linley with his wife Serena, Prince Richard Holkar and many more.
The auction conducted by Christies auctioneer raised a lot of money for the charity – on auction was Birkin Bag from Patriach Hermes private collection, Elizabeth van Merkensteijn on the spur of the moment auctioned her Judith Leiber bag which raised several thousand pounds, Royal family auctioned a visit to the Royal Garden which has a 5 year wait. Sigourney weaver auctioned the red gown she was wearing. The spirit of the guests was worth mentioning!
