Gabriel India has restructured its board and inducted Anjali Anand Singh as the company?s chairperson. Singh is currently chairperson of the supervisory board of Anand Group, an auto component and system manufacturing group. Gabriel India, its flagship, is the only listed entity company in the group. Anjali is the daughter of Deep C Anand, founder of Anand Group.

Gabriel, one of the 19 companies of Anand Group, makes a range of ride-control products ? shock absorbers, struts and front forks for two-wheelers, passenger cars and commercial vehicles. headquartered in Pune, it has nine plants across India.

Singh took over as chairperson of the Gabriel India board from Deepak Chopra, CEO of Anand Group, on Friday.

Apart from a new chairperson, Gabriel India has also inducted new independent directors. Pradipta Sen, president of Emerson?s India, Middle East and Africa region, Arun Jaura, MD and senior partner, Tracktion Management Services and chairman of SAE India automotive board, Rajeev Vasudeva, HR Prasad and Gurdeep Singh have stepped down from the Gabriel India board as independent members.

Singh has been involved with Anand Group’s automotive and hospitality business for the last 10 years, of which the last three were as chairperson of the supervisory board. She joined the family business in 2005, became a member of the supervisory board in 2009 and was elected chairperson in 2011, succeeding her father, who now plays the role of chief mentor.

She has a masters in fine arts from Central Martin’s School of Art and Design in London and has completed a course in business management from University of Westminster. Along with her husband, Jaisal Singh, she is also involved in the group’s hospitality business, Sujan, which has five properties ? Sher Bagh, Ranthambhore; The Serai, Jaisalmer; Jawai Leopard Camp, Jawai; Elephant Pepper Camp, Kenya and the Sujan Rajmahal Palace in Jaipur.
