Public sector lender Bank of Baroda has entered Australia by opening a representative office in Sydney.
Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal inaugurated the office at Sydney recently in the presence of bank’s Chairman and Managing Director Anil K Khandelwal and Australian Prudential Regulation Authority Chairman John F Laker, BoB said in a statement in Mumbai.
With this, the bank has extended its global footprints in 22 countries across six continents through 64 offices. BoB is also planning to open an office in New Zealand shortly to have a greater reach in the Asia Pacific region.
Bank’s Australian Representative Office will provide business advisory services to Indian and Australian corporates for facilitating trade and investment between the two countries.
It would also assist Indian expatriates, students and local community to effect remittances to and from India and rest of the world through more than 2,800 branches or offices in India and abroad.
The Representative Office will also facilitate and guide Indians residing in Australia (NRIs) for their banking needs back home in India.
