Telecom major Bharti Airtel on Thursday posted a 100 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 1512 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared to Rs 755 crore for the same quarter last year.

The revenues of the company increased 53 per cent to Rs 5905 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, from Rs 3856 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago, a company statement said.

The company has made the highest ever net addition of 57 lakh customers in a single quarter and the total customers as on June 30 stood at 4.5 crore, an increase of 82 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

For the quarter ended June 30, Bharti Airtel’s market share of all India mobile subscribers increased to 23.5 per cent from 21.1 per cent during the same period last year.

The cash profit of the company was up 97 per cent at Rs 2622 crore for the quarter ended June 30, from Rs 1333 crore in the previous year.

EBIDTA of the company stood at Rs 2447 crore, up 63 per cent from the year ago levels.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 949, up 0.23 per cent on BSE in early morning trade.
