Finance minister Arun Jaitley will inaugurate the India Investment Summit on Thursday with an aim at attract global investment into fund-starved infrastructure sectors such as roads, highways, oil and gas, and and railways.

The two-day summit, to be held in the national capital, would see participation by long-term investors such as Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), the world’s second largest wealth fund. ADIA had earlier expressed interest to invest in the National Infrastructure and Investment Fund (NIIF), being set up with an initial corpus of R40,000 crore to finance viable infrastructure projects.

Besides Jaitley, urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu, road transport minister Nitin Gadkari and railway minister Suresh Prabhu would participate in the conference.
