With an aim to grab a larger market share of depleting economy segment (100 cc) and growing executive segment (125cc), Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL), India?s second largest bike maker unveiled its much awaited executive bike ‘Exceed’ 125 CC, DTS-Si (Digital Twin Spark?Swirl Induction), at a price of Rs 41,000 (ex-showroom Pune) here.

Already a leader in the economy and premium segment (150cc), with this launch it is aiming for leadership position in the executive segment too and thereby the entire market.

BAL is aiming to take away customers from 100 cc segment, where its rival Hero Honda Motors Limited (HHML) has a strong foothold.

HHML is largest bike maker with a market share of about 41%, while BAL has a market share of 31% and with the introduction of Exceed it is aiming for a 3-4% increase in market share to within a six months time to 34-35%.

It claims that the new bike will give a mileage of 109 km per litre and is powered by a variant of its patented digital, twin-spark ignition engine.
