For the purpose, we are in the process of appointing a leading architect and lighting consultant. Halver of UK also markets lighting products to cater to the home lighting segment such as farm houses and high net worth customers.? ?

In 2005, the luminaires business unit of Bajaj Electricals had announced its exclusive licensing arrangement with the leading European luminaires brand Trilux, the market leader in commercial and industrial lighting in Germany to offer Indian customers state-of-the-art Trilux range of lighting products and services. Ramakrishnan said, ?Since Trilux luminaires have taken off well in India, we are in the process of roping in a large number of consultants for spurring more volumes of the premium product.”

Apart from tapping the high-end commercial segment with new technological luminaires, the appliance business unit through its product segmentation strategy, is planning to foray into tea maker segment under `Morphy Richards? brand very soon. Ramakrishnan said, ?Currently Bajaj oven toaster griller (OTG) products contribute 25% to our overall sales turnover. So far, we have sold over 1 million dry iron and 4 lakh mixer grinders. So far, Morghy Richards has contributed Rs 50 core to appliance turnover.? The company hopes the retailing segment to constitute 40% of appliance turnover as there are specific product models such as Bajaj and Morphy Richards? which are sold through different retail chains.
