Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland today reported a marginal decline of 0.7 per cent in commercial vehicle sales at 4,784 units in August this year as compared to the same month in 2008.
The company had sold 4,819 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales stood at 4,233 units in August against 4,225 units in the same month last year, down 0.1 per cent, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.
Exports fell by 7.23 per cent to 551 units in the month compared to 594 units in the year-ago period.
The company reported a decline of 1.56 per cent in total domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles at 4,161 units from 4,227 units in the same month last year.
