Keeping eye on Mumbai Municipal Council polls scheduled for next year, MNS activists today gifted a cake in shape of BMC building with the party flag atop to their leader Raj Thackeray on his 43th birthday.
“We want MNS to win the BMC elections and wish that maximum corporators of our party get elected,” president of Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Sena, who got the cake prepared, Ameya Khopkar said.
Thousands of followers visited their leader’s residence at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai to wish him. Wearing regular white clothes, Raj also thanked them all.
Three ambulances, an initiative by party leader Arvind Gawde and vehicles for serving food were inaugurated by Raj.
MNS leaders Shishir Shinde, Bala Nandgaokar, Ram Kadam were present on the occasion.
Raj’s birthday was in controversy two years back when he cut a cake with ‘bhaiya’ written on it. His anti-north Indian campaign was in full swing then.
