Indian Railways has halted the sale of platform tickets at 15 key stations, including Delhi and Mumbai, to ensure the safety of passengers during Diwali and Chhath Puja. The restriction will last until October 28, 2025, but some passengers will be exempt. A holding area has been completed at New Delhi Railway Station to handle the rise in foot traffic during festivals.
