The environment and forests ministry must speed up clearance to greenfield projects of Posco India and ArcelorMittal, which are of national importance, steel minister Virbhadra Singh said on Friday.
?Some of the greenfield projects such as those of Posco and ArcelorMittal?of about 36 million tonne per annum?have been delayed due to various reasons,? Singh said. He also said he was sure the delay is not deliberate.
?All the projects have to be ultimately cleared by the ministry of environment and forests. My request to the ministry is that it should expedite the clearance so that the companies can go ahead,? he said.
