In a shocking incident, a teacher from Chattisgarh’s Raigarh district chopped off hairs of seven girl students of 10th standrad, as he felt they were ‘too long’. As per the teacher, the girls were involved in a “show-off” of long hairs. The teacher has been detained by police.
“You come for study not to show off long hair,” said the teacher after detention, adding that he had issued several “warnings” to the students earlier. “A student should remain as simple as possible, I had given them warnings,” he added.
Meanwhile, one of the girls, whose hairs were chopped-off, demanded strict action against the teacher. “We want him (teacher) to get punishment, he has insulted us by his action,” said the girl.

As per a report by Aajtak.in, the seven students arrived late at school premises. The teacher, reprimanded the students, and asked for the reason.
Pushpendra Patel, the Matmetics teacher, has been working with the school for past two years.He lost his cool when the girls didn’t give him a reply and then chopped-off girls’ hairs. The incident came into light when students complained about teacher’s shameless act to their guardians.

The angered parents then lodged a complaint with the Sarpanch and with Bhudevpur police. As per a report, the accused was booked under IPC Sections 352 (assault or criminal force), 509 (act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 23 of Juvenile Justice Act. Further probe into the case is on.
