Revealing his family assets, income, expenses and financial obligation, the the Presidential Office announce the data on this weekend.
Zelensky’s latest declaration shows that his family income clocked at 15,286,183 hryvnias ($368,556) in 2034, including 8,585,532 hryvnias ($207,000) from government sales bonds. President Zelensky’s family income over the years
Around the same time last year, Zelensky and his family declared their $316,700 income for the year 2023. For 2024, the Presidential Office explained the rise in Zelensky’s family income, saying, “The increase in the Ukrainian President’s family income compared to the previous year was due to the resumption of full rental payments.” They also informed, “There were no other significant changes in the assets, real estate, or vehicles of the President’s family last year.”
Observing the graph of President Zelensky’s income over the years, Reuters reported last year that it was estimated at 12.42 million hryvnias for 2022, increasing from the previous year’s 3.7 million hryvnias.
Ukraine instituted these mandatory electronic asset declarations for public officials in 2014, pushing for transparency and aiming to eliminate corruption. However, they were briefly halted in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion. President Volodymyr Zelensky reinstated the declarations by signing a law in October 2023.
Zelensky beyond politics
Zelensky was notably a popular comedian and actor before venturing into politics. In addition to standing out as the star of the Ukrainian TV series Servant of the People, he co-founded a production company called Kvartal 95, which has spearheaded numerous noteworthy comedy shows, films and sitcoms.
On top of his multi-faceted career lines, Ukraine’s president holds a law degree from the Kyiv National Economic University. However, as is already known, he didn’t pursue law as a profession.
Social media reports had previously declared him a billionaire. However, a Forbes Middle East report established that he’s far off the mark. The outlet noted that Zelensky’s net worth was roughly $20 million when Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The former entertainer’s wealth as the president of Ukraine has only fluctuated since he took power in 2019.
