Days after Charlie Kirk was shot dead at an event at a university in Utah, her widow, Erika Frantzve, has spoken out. Erika, during a live stream on her husband’s YouTube channel, Charlie Kirk, said that she would continue her husband’s political activism through his organisation, Turning Point USA. She also read a verse from the Bible and thanked US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, along with the second lady, Usha Vance.
Empty Chair tribute
Before addressing the nation, the live streaming showed an empty chair and a podium that had Charlie’s picture with the words: “May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Saviour.”
Erika Frantzve’s statement
Erika, in her address to the nation, thanked all those who worked tirelessly to catch her husband’s assassin.
“Now, and for all eternity, he will stand at his saviour’s side wearing the glorious crown of a martyr,” she expressed, before adding that her husband loved life.
An emotional Erika added, “He loved his life. He loved America. He loved nature, which always brought him closer to God. He loved the Chicago Cubs and my goodness, he did love the Oregon Ducks.”
She went on to reveal how Charlie would ask her every day about how he could be a better husband and a better father. Erika also said that if Charlie were to run for office, he would have prioritised reviving the “American family”.
Charlie Kirk’s favourite Bible verse
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,” she recited her husband’s favourite verse from Ephesians 5:25 (New International Version), adding that he showed “true covenantal love”.
“Charlie always said that when he was gone, he wanted to be remembered for his courage and for his faith.
‘You’ve no idea the fire…’
Erika, wiping her tears, said, “The evildoers, responsible for my husband’s assassination, have no idea what they have done. They killed Charlie because he preached a message of patriotism, faith and God’s merciful love.”
“You have no idea what you have just unleashed across this entire country. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife; the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry,” she went on to say.
Erika also said that Charlie loved her and their children “with all of his heart” and that she is aware of it.
‘My husband loved you,’ Erika’s message for Trump
The widow of the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder also thanked US President Donald Trump, his “friend” Vice President JD Vance, and Second Lady Usha Vance.
“You guys honoured my husband so well, bringing him home. You both are tremendous,” she said.
She also thanked Trump for all his support during this hard time, and said, “My husband loved you, and he knew that you loved him too. He did. Your friendship was amazing. You supported him so well, as did he for you.”
She also urged people to join the Turning Point USA chapter and “stay involved”. “He wants you to make a difference. And, you can. The movement is not going anywhere, and it will only grow stronger when you join it.”
