According to the Gulte, Harshavardhan Reddy suffered a sudden heart attack on Tuesday night. Emergency medical teams were called immediately, but his condition worsened very quickly. Doctors later declared him dead at the scene. Back home in Bollaram village, the news spread and brought the entire community to a standstill. Harshavardhan’s father currently serves as the sarpanch of the village.

Relatives and villagers described Harshavardhan as a calm, hardworking, and dedicated person. Many spoke about how closely he stayed connected to his roots despite having lived abroad for several years. Residents gathered to mourn his untimely passing.

A growing pattern of concern

The death of Harshavardhan Reddy in Florida in January 2026 has drawn attention to a troubling trend seen in recent years, where several Indian-origin professionals in the United States, many from the Telugu community, have died unexpectedly.

Earlier this month, Nagarjuna Devarakonda, a young Telugu student in Virginia, passed away after suffering severe breathlessness for several days. He had completed his Master’s degree in 2023 and reportedly died due to cardiac arrest.

In December 2025, Yashwanth Kumar Goshika, a 33-year-old software engineer from Choutappal in Telangana, was found dead in his sleep at his home in Dallas. He was due to get married in February 2026.

A few months earlier, in September 2025, Sai Krishna Alluri, a 37-year-old tech professional from Andhra Pradesh living in Virginia, collapsed during an evening walk and died of a heart attack.

In August 2025, the sudden death of Pratik Pandey, a 35-year-old Microsoft engineer in Mountain View, California, sent shockwaves through the tech community. He was found dead on the company’s campus, with the preliminary cause listed as a heart attack. His passing triggered a wider discussion on LinkedIn around workplace stress and mental health in the tech industry.

Another tragic case was reported in May 2025, when Mohammad Thurab Ali, a 28-year-old engineer from the Konaseema district working in Washington DC, died of cardiac arrest. He was just weeks away from returning to India for his wedding.
